W naszej wspólnocie odbyło się spotkanie Gedeonitów. 

Co robią Gedeonici kim są?

Celem ich działalności jest popularyzacja Biblii, którą najczęściej rozdają bezpłatnie. Robią to w hotelach, szkołach, zakładach karnych i innych instytucjach. Gedeonici powstali w 1899 r. w Boscobel, w amerykańskim stanie Wisconsin. Dotarli do niemal 150 krajów, gdzie rozdali około 600 milionów egzemplarzy Nowego Testamentu. W Polsce rozdali około miliona egzemplarzy.31 maja 1899 roku w Beaver Dam w Wisconsin postanowiono o powołaniu stowarzyszenia chrześcijan podróżujących w celach handlowych, które miałoby się zajmować popularyzacją Ewangelii Jezusa Chrystusa. 1 lipca 1899 w Janesville w Wisconsin działalność rozpoczęła trójosobowa grupa, która przyjęła nazwę Gedeonici. Samuel E. Hill został  prezydentem,  Will J.  Knights  wiceprezydentem,  a John H. Nicholson  skarbnikiem i sekretarzem. Przez pierwsze lata działalności Gedeonici pozostawiali w recepcjach hotelowych egzemplarze Biblii, by goście mogli je wypożyczać. 19 października 1907 roku padł w gronie zarządu pomysł, żeby zaopatrzyć  każdy  pokój  hotelowy  w  USA  w Biblię. Został on zaakceptowany przez konwencję w Luisville w Kentucky w 1908 roku.  W tym samym roku Związek Pastorów   USA, w którym inicjatywa Gedeonitów znalazła silne poparcie, powołał specjalny komitet mający zająć się pozyskiwaniem pieniędzy na dystrybucję Pisma Świętego. W ten sposób zapoczątkowano posługę gedeonicką i wyznaczono kierunki przyszłych inicjatyw oraz ustalono metodę pozyskiwania funduszy na działalność.
